Editorial policy

GTAWiki exists to give GTA 6 fans information they can trust. This page explains how we work.

Primary sources first

We start from the original source wherever possible: Rockstar Games' own website, trailers and screenshots, official statements from Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive, platform stores, ratings boards and the magazine interviews Rockstar gives (for example Game Informer and LOVE). When we rely on other outlets, we name them in the article and list them under Sources at the end.

Every claim gets a label

  • Official Official: shown or stated by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or a platform holder.
  • Reported Reported: published by an established outlet and attributed to it, but not confirmed by Rockstar.
  • Rumor Rumor: unconfirmed claims or speculation. We only include rumors when they help explain a story, and we never present them as fact.

When we interpret something (for example what a trailer shot might mean), we say that it's our reading.

We summarize interviews and articles in our own words and quote only short passages, always credited. Game screenshots and artwork belong to Rockstar Games; we use official images to report on and discuss the game, with credit. We don't republish magazine pages or other outlets' articles.

Leaks

We don't publish leaked footage, leaked images, download links or "builds", and we don't speculate about the identity of people behind leaks. When a leak is itself the news, we report what happened using official statements and public records, and we warn readers about scams and malware that often follow.

How our articles are made

Our articles are based on the research we do for GameSight videos: every fact is logged with its source before it's written up, and checked against the sources listed with the article. We use software and AI tools in production (for example the narration voice in our videos and help with drafting), but what we publish is based on our own research notes and checked against the sources. AI-made illustrations are always labelled as illustrations.

Corrections and updates

GTA 6 news changes fast. When we find or are told about an error, we fix it, and articles that change substantially show an Updated date at the top. To report a mistake, email us via the contact page with the page address and the source.

Independence

GTAWiki is an unofficial fan site. We're not affiliated with or paid by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or any platform holder. The site may show advertising to cover its costs; advertisers have no say in what we write.
