There is no real GTA 6 APK, PC download, beta or early access, so every link offering one is a scam. Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, and the only early download anyone gets is the official pre-load on those consoles from November 12. Everything else, from "GTA 6 mobile" apps to 100 GB "PC builds", is bait for malware, stolen accounts or crypto payments you'll never see again. Here's how each scam works and how to spot one in seconds.
Is there a GTA 6 APK or mobile version?
No. Official Rockstar Games has announced GTA 6 for two console families, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and nothing else. There's no Android build, no iPhone build and no "lite" version for phones, so an APK can't be real. Our device guide covers every platform people ask about, from PS4 to Steam Deck.
That hasn't stopped "gta 6 apk download" from becoming one of the most common GTA 6 searches. Google's own suggestions push phrases like "apk download app", "mobile download" and "download play store" to the top. The demand is huge, and scammers fill it.
Reported NordVPN's researchers found Android apps called "GTA 6 Beta" with official-looking branding and even an intro video, according to Techloy. There was no game inside. Opening them led to full-screen ads, redirects to paid subscriptions and more downloads, all dressed up as "human verification steps". One of the apps connected to a domain with a history of spreading infostealers, banking trojans, adware and ransomware.

Fake GTA 6 PC downloads and "builds"
Official GTA 6 has no PC release date. Reported GamesBeat reported a PC version in Q1 2027, which Rockstar hasn't confirmed; our PC release tracker follows it. Until then, any "GTA 6 PC download", "repack", "ISO" or "crack" is fake.
The most detailed look at these files comes from the security firm Huntress. Reported Huntress told TechRadar it found sites ranking high in search results, plus forum, torrent and social media posts, offering a GTA 6 ISO. Some of the files weighed more than 100 GB to look like a real game, while the actual malware was a tiny fraction of that. Inside were two remote access trojans (NJRAT and CDRAT), the Mercurial Grabber infostealer and Chaos ransomware.
Mercurial Grabber is built to take exactly what gamers have on their PCs. Huntress listed Discord tokens, Roblox and Minecraft session data, Chrome passwords and cookies, Windows product keys, screenshots and your location. The installer even shows a fake "license not found" error at the end, so the victim thinks the crack failed instead of realizing their PC is now infected.
Reported A separate 113 GB "build" shared on torrent sites was taken apart by a user who concluded it was fake and contained malware, Notebookcheck reported. Reported NordVPN also found clones of well-known repack sites handing out a package disguised as an NVIDIA graphics driver that downloads more malware and connects to an attacker's server.

"VIP early access" and beta scams
Official Rockstar has never announced a public beta, demo or paid early access for GTA 6. The only early download is the console pre-load, and it arrives through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store, not a website.
Reported Malwarebytes researcher Stefan Dasic tracked sites selling "VIP early access" to GTA 6. One charged $250 and accepted only Bitcoin, USDT or Ethereum. After paying, the buyer is told to wait for confirmation and enter a transaction ID to unlock a download page full of QR codes and a big download button. No game ever arrives. The sites looked polished, with Vice City-style art, luxury cars and AI-generated images.
Rockstar Games has not authorized any site selling GTA 6 early access.

Crypto is the point of the scam. Unlike a card payment, a crypto transfer generally can't be reversed or charged back, so once it's sent it's gone. Reported Dasic expects these scams to grow as launch gets closer, with new lures like cheap copies or in-game items.
The beta version of the scam usually doesn't ask for money up front. Reported Fake beta sites promise PS5 or Xbox beta keys, then send you through forms, "verification" steps, paid subscriptions or app installs, according to NordVPN. Reported Kaspersky also found a "leaked beta" download promoted with videos showing people how to install it "safely"; opening it installed malware, Tom's Guide reported.
Fake pre-order sites and stolen Social Club accounts
Official You can pre-order GTA 6 from the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, Rockstar's own site and authorized retailers. Prices are $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the US; our editions guide has every price and item.
Reported Kaspersky told Tom's Guide it had found fake pre-order sites that copy Rockstar's branding, real trailers and artwork, offering the game for PS5 or Xbox. The pages appeared in several languages, so the targets are worldwide. The real goal is the card details and personal information you type at checkout.
Reported NordVPN also tracked "hundreds of amateur phishing pages" built to steal Rockstar Social Club logins, hosted on free developer platforms. A stolen account can be resold or used for fraud in Rockstar's games. These pages often arrive through "free copy" giveaways and fake beta invites.
| Scam | What it promises | What it really wants |
|---|---|---|
| GTA 6 APK or "mobile beta" | GTA 6 on your phone | Ad money, app installs, subscriptions, malware |
| PC ISO, repack or crack | The full game on PC before launch | Your passwords, Discord account, files (ransomware) |
| "VIP early access" | Play before November 19 | A crypto payment you can't get back |
| Beta key or tester invite | A spot in a GTA 6 beta | Your details, a subscription, an app install |
| Fake pre-order store | A cheaper or earlier copy | Your card details and personal data |
| Social Club "giveaway" login | A free copy or bonus | Your Rockstar account |

7 red flags of a GTA 6 scam
Every scam above trips at least one of these. If you see any of them, close the page.
- It offers GTA 6 on a device that isn't a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. Phone, PC, PS4, Switch: not announced, so not real.
- It offers the game, a beta or a demo before November 19. The only early access is the console pre-load from November 12.
- It asks for crypto, a gift card or a "verification fee". Rockstar and the console stores never do.
- It makes you complete steps first: watch ads, install an app, fill in a survey or "verify you're human".
- The download is an APK, ISO, ZIP, EXE or "repack". Console games download inside the console's own store.
- The web address is not the real one. Rockstar's site is rockstargames.com; check the spelling before you log in or pay.
- It's pushed by a video, comment or DM promising a "working" or "safe" download. Scammers use the same hype channels you do.
What to do if you already downloaded or paid
Move fast, because infostealers send your data out within minutes. This is general safety advice from the researchers above, not a substitute for professional help.
- Disconnect the device from the internet and don't open the file again.
- Change your passwords from a different, clean device, starting with email, Rockstar Social Club, PlayStation, Xbox, Discord and your bank. Turn on two-factor authentication everywhere it's offered.
- Run a full antivirus scan. Reported Huntress's advice for a PC that ran one of these installers goes further: wipe and reinstall Windows, then reset your credentials.
- Call your bank if you entered card details on a pre-order site, and ask about blocking the card and disputing the charge.
- Report it. Report the app to Google Play, the site to your browser's phishing report, and the video or post to the platform it came from. Crypto payments are hard to recover, so report those to your local police or fraud agency too.
How to get GTA 6 safely
There are only a few legitimate routes, and none of them involve a website download:
- PS5: the PlayStation Store on your console or the official PlayStation website, or a boxed copy from a real retailer.
- Xbox Series X|S: the Microsoft Store on your console or the official Xbox website, or a boxed copy.
- Rockstar Games: rockstargames.com links to the official stores. Type the address yourself.
Official Pre-load opens November 12 for digital pre-orders, and the boxed Standard Edition contains a download code, not a disc, so every copy ends up as a download inside your console's store. Our file size and pre-load tracker, the pre-load planner and the unlock time guide cover what happens next, and the GTA 6 launch hub gathers everything for launch week.

Our take: why GTA 6 scams will peak in launch week
Our read: the worst is still ahead. GTA 6 is the most anticipated game in years, it skips PC and phones at launch, and it carries a $79.99 price, so millions of people want it and can't get it the way they'd like. That gap is exactly what the "free PC download" and "mobile APK" scams sell into. Expect a new wave around November 12 (pre-load), November 18 (reviews) and November 19, with fake "day-one patches", "cheat menus" and "mod menus" added to the list.
The good news is that the rule never changes. Until Rockstar announces something else, GTA 6 is a console game you buy from a console store. Anything that asks you to step outside that, with a file, a fee or a login, is a scam.
FAQ
Is there a real GTA 6 APK download?
No. Official GTA 6 is only announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no Android or iPhone version. Every "GTA 6 APK" is fake, and researchers have found them pushing ads, subscriptions and malware.
Can I download GTA 6 on PC for free?
No. Official There's no PC version yet, free or paid. Fake GTA 6 PC ISOs and repacks have been caught carrying remote access trojans, password stealers and ransomware, according to Huntress.
Is there a GTA 6 beta or early access?
No. Official Rockstar hasn't announced any beta, demo or early access. The only early step is the official console pre-load from November 12, through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.
Is GTA 6 "VIP early access" real?
No. Reported Malwarebytes found these sites charging $250 in crypto and delivering nothing. Crypto payments usually can't be reversed, so don't send money to anyone promising early access.
How do I know a GTA 6 pre-order site is real?
Buy only from the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, rockstargames.com or a retailer you already know. Reported Kaspersky found convincing fake stores that reuse Rockstar's trailers and art, so check the web address before paying.
What should I do if I installed a fake GTA 6 file?
Disconnect the device, change your important passwords from another device, turn on two-factor authentication and run a full scan. For a PC, Huntress recommends wiping and reinstalling Windows. Call your bank if you entered card details.
