GTA 6 Buildings You Can Enter: 25 Interiors Shown So Far

No, Rockstar has never said you can go inside 400 buildings in GTA 6. The viral "407" is a count printed on a fan-made map, and the YouTuber who spread it says it isn't confirmed. What Rockstar has said is that there are "hundreds" of little interiors to explore, and across the trailers, the Extended Look, screenshots and interviews we count 25 kinds of places it has shown from the inside: shops you can rob, bars, clubs, gyms, salons, safehouses and big story locations.
The video above walks through the same list in about ten minutes. Below, every place is grouped by what you do there, with its status label.
Where the "400 buildings" number comes from
Rumor The number traces back to a German GTA channel, Slag, whose October 21 video said GTA 6 has "over 400" enterable buildings. His source is the YANIS GTA VI Community Map, version 17, posted on October 17. Its legend reads "Confirmed interior (407)".
The method matters. According to Slag's interview with one of the mappers, a few interiors come from trailers and screenshots, but most are read off the minimap in the Extended Look, where buildings appear in two shades of blue. The mappers treat one shade as "enterable", and a building counts if even one room can be entered: a hotel might be a lobby, a stairwell and a rooftop bar. Slag also says the map draws on leaked material, which is one more reason we don't treat the figure as fact and don't show the map here.
Asked directly whether 407 is confirmed, Slag's answer was "No, of course not." He expects the real game to have more.
Rumor Other numbers you may see, "70% of buildings are enterable", "700 establishments" or "157 interiors", come from an anonymous 2023 social media post, unverified claims and leaked data respectively. None comes from Rockstar.

What Rockstar has actually said about interiors
Rockstar talks about density, not numbers:
- Official Aaron Garbut told Game Informer that Leonida is twice the size of GTA V's map and "more dense, detailed, and interactive", and that the team obsessed over "the rooftops, the alleys, the internals" until it reached a critical mass of interiors.
- Official Rob Nelson told IGN it's the "largest, deepest, most densely populated" world Rockstar has built, and so big he doubts anyone on the team knows all of it. A lot is found by exploring, not through map icons.
- Reported Rockstar told Bloomberg there are "hundreds" of small interiors to explore, with offices and gas stations among the examples MP1st relayed. No outlet attributes that line to one named person.
- Reported Nelson told French magazine Trois Couleurs that "you can enter a lot of buildings" and that the number is "enormous" (translated).
There's so many of these little interiors — hundreds of them — that you can go and explore.
Rockstar Games, to Bloomberg (via MP1st)
Our read: "hundreds" and a fan count of 407 sit in the same ballpark, so "around 400" isn't wild. It just isn't a number Rockstar has given, and the true figure depends on what you count as a building.
Shops you can rob (and shop in)
Shops are the biggest group, and most of them double as robbery targets. Official Robbing stores, holding up businesses and bank heists are among the main ways to earn money, and robbery targets show on the map.
- Convenience stores and gas-station marts. Official The Extended Look's robbery montage shows Jason and Lucia masked inside a bright convenience store, a clerk firing through a porthole in protective glass, and a "Food Mart" owner chasing them out with a shotgun. Reported Bloomberg saw them slip into a gas station's back office and take cash unnoticed.
- Liquor stores. Official Lucia walks a liquor-store aisle in Trailer 1; Jason holds a pistol behind a counter in the Extended Look.
- Pawn shops. Official Lucia masks up outside a pawn shop in a run-down strip mall. Reported In Nelson's demo, Jason searched the back for the safe while Lucia watched the door.
- Jewelry stores. Official Lucia wrestles a man between glass cases while the crew covers the door. Reported El Rubius says the map showed one store holding roughly $15,000-$40,000.
- Small local shops. Official Nelson robbed a shop that sells headphones with no plan, "just going to see what happens", and named payday loan places as targets.
- Clothing stores. Official Each has standard stock plus items unique to that shop, and buying a whole new outfit "will remove any heat".
- Stock 305. Official An Ultimate Edition streetwear store in Stockyard.
Official Safes add a choice: blow one open and you damage the loot, or find the combination and earn more at more risk. Many robbery spots have a back door. No Ammu-Nation interior has been shown yet. For the full money picture, see our robberies guide.

Places to eat, drink and party
- Effluvia rooftop bar. Official In the Extended Look the lift opens onto a lobby with a living green wall, and the couple walk hand in hand to meet Brian and Lori.
- Nightclubs. Official A packed dance floor under purple lasers, and Lucia on a club balcony with "Drink" and "Drop" prompts. A dancing feature hasn't been described.
- Jack of Hearts. Official Boobie Ike's Vice City strip club, shown inside under its own banner.
- Bars and pool halls. Official Beach-shack bars, a neon bar, and pool, which is on Game Informer's activity list; one screenshot shows Jason at a pool table while Cal watches.
- Hotels. Official Ocean Beach has "pastel art deco hotels". Reported El Rubius says Nelson walked into a hotel, crossed the lobby and rode the lift to the roof with no visible loading screen, then took a helicopter.
Official Food matters too: an "EAT" prompt appears in the Extended Look, and Nelson says eating "has quite a dramatic effect on your health". Overeat and you put on weight.

Gyms, salons and tattoo parlors
- Gyms. Official Nelson: "We do have gyms where you can go and work out." Go together and it's "a 2-for-1" on both characters' stats. Reported Bloomberg saw Jason doing squats while Lucia ran on a treadmill.
- Salons and barbers. Official At a safehouse you can only cut hair shorter; new styles need a salon, and every salon has signature styles. A new haircut clears the police's "appearance" icon. Sara's Unisex Salon is Ultimate Edition only.
- Electric Fang Tattoo. Official An Ultimate Edition parlor in Stockyard with over 50 tattoos designed by the art collective FAILE. Rockstar hasn't said whether ordinary tattoo parlors exist.

Homes, safehouses and garages
- Safehouses. Official Nelson says they're "closer to the camps in RDR2" than any GTA safehouse. In the demo Jason grabbed a drink from the fridge; the house actually belongs to Brian, who lets Jason live there rent-free.
- The Extended Look apartment. Official Flamingo wallpaper, notes on the fridge, a TV playing ads and a balcony over a pool. Whose flat it is hasn't been said.
- Garages. Official The Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach comes with every pre-order; the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay with the Ultimate Edition. Both have a weapon locker and a stash for stolen goods.
- Motels. Official Port Gellhorn has "cheap motels", including the Starlet Motel, and motel rooms appear in both trailers. Whether they work as safehouses isn't known.
More on daily life at home in our safehouses guide.
The big story locations
- Leonida Penitentiary. Official Trailer 1 opens inside it with Lucia. Free-roam access hasn't been mentioned.
- Brian's Boat Works & Marina. Official A floodlit shed holding a small helicopter, and Jason beside a cruiser in the Launch Trailer.
- The Extended Look tower block. Official A graffiti lobby, a cramped lift, a drug lab and a shootout. Nelson says there are "multiple routes out".
- Megamundo headquarters. Official A lobby with a balloon arch, a party floor, a conference room and a door marked roof access, all in the Extended Look.
- Banks and vaults. Official A round vault door with cash flying, and a bank manager with his hands up. Banks are free-roam targets too; Reported in Bloomberg's demo Jason cased one and walked away because of the guards.
- The zoo. Official Zoos are on Game Informer's activity list, and Nelson mentions visiting one. No footage yet.
Official Other rooms Rockstar has shown include an airport lounge, a recording studio for Boobie's label, a multi-storey car park and a police impound lot. Official The world also has "gang compounds to hit"; see our gangs guide. No indoor shopping mall has been announced.

Shown vs enterable: what we still don't know

| "407 confirmed interiors" | Fan-map count (rumor) |
| Can you rob most shops? | Official: "pretty much anything" |

| Is the Penitentiary open in free roam? | Not announced |
| Indoor malls, bowling, casino | Not announced |

Our take
GTA 5 trained players to expect painted-on doors. Everything Rockstar has said about GTA 6 points the other way: shops that can be robbed, unique stock in every clothes store and salon, gyms that change your stats and a hotel lift that reportedly runs to the roof without a loading screen. That's a world built around walking in.
But "hundreds" is still not every building, and some of the rooms on this list may turn out to be mission-only. Treat the 407 as a fun fan estimate, not a promise, and expect the real answer on November 19. We'll update this list after launch. Until then, the map guide and the countdown are the best places to plan your first day.
FAQ
How many buildings can you enter in GTA 6?
Rockstar hasn't given a number. It told Bloomberg there are "hundreds" of small interiors to explore, and a fan map counts 407 buildings with at least one room it believes is enterable. That fan count partly relies on leaked material and isn't confirmed.
Is it true that 70% of buildings are enterable in GTA 6?
No source supports it. The 70% claim came from an anonymous social media account in December 2023 and was never confirmed by Rockstar or any reliable outlet.
Can you rob any store in GTA 6?
Rob Nelson told IGN "you can rob pretty much anything", and robbed a headphone shop with no plan in his demo. Convenience stores, liquor stores, pawn shops, jewelry stores, payday loan places and banks have all been shown or named as targets. "Pretty much" isn't "every", so expect some exceptions.
Can you go inside houses in GTA 6?
You can live in safehouses, which Nelson compares to the camps in Red Dead Redemption 2, and Rockstar has shown an apartment, motel rooms and a stilt house in the Keys. Whether you can enter random homes, or buy property, hasn't been announced.
Are there malls in GTA 6?
No indoor mall has been announced. Rockstar only mentions strip malls in Port Gellhorn, and the Extended Look shows a run-down one with a pawn shop. Claims about a big indoor mall come from fan maps.
Which interiors need the Ultimate Edition?
Stock 305 (clothing), Sara's Unisex Salon, Electric Fang Tattoo and two mod shops, Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's, only open with the $99.99 Ultimate Edition, which also adds the Paradise Garage. Our editions guide lists everything else it adds.
